Thank you for your interest in NDTA!
Who are we?
The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) is comprised of both corporate and individual members. Corporate members are key players in the transportation and logistics related industries as well as passenger and leisure travel, IT and distribution. Individual members include military logisticians, civilian government leaders and senior and mid-level executives from private industry.
What do we do?
NDTA is a non-political and non-profit educational association of government, military, and industry professionals dedicated to fostering a strong and efficient global transportation and distribution system in support of national security. NDTA serves as a vital link among the armed forces, government and industry on current matters of transportation, travel, distribution, logistics and security. NDTA’s status as a tax exempt organization fully recognized federally by the Internal Revenue Service allows for knowledge sharing in a non-partisan, fair, and objective environment among all branches of the military, federal government and transportation related industries. Its 7500+ members throughout the world are able to discuss critical transportation issues openly in a professional atmosphere consistent with the principles of government ethics and without commercial trade constraints and the results are shared with various interested parties.
NDTA provides a channel for communication of ideas, issues, education and networking for its members. NDTA is comprised of over 60 chapters in the US and overseas. This chapter driven organization conducts events and provides opportunities to increase awareness of transportation related issues along with community involvement. There are six functional committees dedicated to reviewing and working issues of national significance. NDTA’s Fall Meeting is the primary professional meeting and trade show for all of its members each year. NDTA’s functional committees conduct 12 meetings each year, including one in conjunction with the fall meeting. It is through these committee meetings that industry and government work together to address topics of common interest.
The NDTA Foundation and our Chapters provide a source of scholarship funds to deserving students pursuing an education or career in transportation or logistics. Annual scholarships totaling more than $100,000 are given each year to outstanding high school and college students.
