The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) and Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies (CAS) jointly present the NDTA-CAS Surface Force Projection Conference (SFPC):  Managing Disruptions Thru the Strategic Ports to Improve Deployments,” May 17-19, 2022 at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.

The conference brings together U.S. government and industry logistics and transportation experts, and members of the Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLE), to examine a wide range of challenges associated with operating in and through the contested environment to provide U.S. capability at the point of need.

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend meetings and hear from notable keynote speakers, moderators, and panels members.  The 2022 Surface Force Projection Conference focuses on CONUS strategic Seaports, surface transportation modes, and unique challenges of operating in and through the contested environment of today and tomorrow.   Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with surface industry and government experts.  This year’s conference will include keynote speakers and panel sessions that include various industry and government subject matter expert’s and will include panels and speaker led discussions.

The 2022 SFPC will feature:

  • Meetings and Breakout Sessions – meet and network with government and industry leaders focused on ports and the surface logistics and transportation industry
  • Keynote Speakers – engage with our five senior government, military and industry speakers to receive updates on the strategic seaports; port and supply chain disruptions; military surface deployment perspectives; innovations and thoughts about the future.
  • Panels – learn from our five panels as their moderators guide the discussion across topics on critical strategic port and intermodal infrastructure; labor; overcoming disruptions to ports and surface transportation; and leveraging alternate routes, modes and nodes to expand deployment options.

Join NDTA and CAS along with the NDTA Surface Committee and Ports Subcommittee as we team with U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD), U.S. Transportation Command’s (USTRANSCOM’s) Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), the Association of American Port Authorities (AAPA), and the logistics and transportation Industry along with academia to find creative and innovative ways to improve deployment capability through a focus on improving logistics, transportation and port readiness by government and industry partners.
