“Achieving Surface Deployment at the Speed of War:  Supporting Large Scale Operations”

May 15-18, 2023

Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA

The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) and Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies (CAS) jointly present the NDTA-CAS Surface Force Projection Conference (SFPC):  Achieving Surface Deployment at the Speed of War: Supporting Large Scale Operations,” May 15-18, 2023 at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.

The SFPC brings together U.S. government and industry logistics and transportation experts, and members of the Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLE), to examine a wide range of challenges associated with moving and sustaining U.S. military forces operating in and through highly contested environments to provide integrated logistics and transportation support when and where it is needed.

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions and meetings, engage with notable keynote speakers, moderators, and panelists, and network at receptions and the exhibit hall.  The 2023 SFPC focuses on the challenges associated with deploying large military organizations such as Army Corps and Divisions through the U.S. strategic seaports, via surface transportation while integrating and adapting to contend with the contested environment of today and tomorrow.  Networking is an important conference feature and attendees will have many opportunities to connect with government and industry subject matter experts.

The 2023 SFPC will feature:

  • Mariners’ Museum – USS Monitor Center – Join our NDTA Young Leaders for a facilitated tour of the award-winning USS Monitor Center
  • Meetings and Breakout Sessions – Meet, network and join the discussion with government and industry leaders covering topics on surface transportation, commercial industry, strategic seaports, port infrastructure and NDTA Ports Subcommittee
