We’re diving into this year’s theme,“Accelerating Decision Advantage Across Defense Transportation & Logistics,” focusing on outpacing adversaries in a competitive transportation and logistics landscape.

Dr. Radha Iyengar Plumb, SES
Department of Defense Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, Principal Staff Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense

We’re thrilled to announce that keynote speaker Dr. Radha Iyengar Plumb, SES, Department of Defense Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, Principal Staff Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, will deliver a riveting presentation on “Accelerating DoD Adoption of Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence to Enable Decision Advantage”  The DoD Chief Digital & Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) mission is to accelerate DoD adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence from the board room to the battlefield to enable decision advantage. In this keynote address, Dr. Plumb will discuss the CDAO’S five primary functions:

  • Strategy Deployment & Policy Formulation
  • Breaking Down Barriers to Adoption
  • Enabling Digital Infrastructure & Services
  • Scaling Proven Solutions
  • Surging Digital Services for Crisis Response

Dr. Plumb is leading the acceleration of the DoD’s adoption of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to generate decision advantage. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (DUSD(A&S)) and was responsible to the Under Secretary of Defense for all matters pertaining to acquisition; contract administration; logistics and materiel readiness; installations and environment; operational energy; chemical, biological, and nuclear defense; the acquisition workforce; and the defense industrial base.  She was the Director of Research and Insights for Trust & Safety at Google and had previously served as Global Head of Policy Analysis at Facebook. Before her Silicon Valley work, Dr. Plumb was a senior economist at the RAND Corporation where she focused on improving measurement and evaluation of readiness and security efforts across the Department of Defense.
