The 2021 NDTA-USTRANSCOM Fall Meeting will be held October 18-21, at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Conference Center, MD.  The always popular Transportation Academy will conduct over 60 interactive seminars/classes covering a variety of interest areas, including seminars taught by USTRANSCOM and Component Command senior leaders.  Here are a few highlights for this year’s Transportation Academy:

VADM Dee Mewbourne, USTRANSCOM Deputy Commander, will deliver a Transportation Academy seminar titled, A Framework for Winning Logistics.  This seminar provides an overview of the importance of logistics in maintaining a comparative strategic advantage. It will highlight the changing character of logistics and how rapid changes will continue to impact the future of the transportation industry and Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise.

SDDC will also host their SDDC Workshops, comprised this year of six sessions, including Domestic Freight Support Trends & Tips and DOD Shipping Container Management. Domestic Freight Support Trends & Tips provides information and highlights of common freight cost disputes, carrier and shipper performance trends, and other domestic freight topics. The course will offer helpful advice and recommendations for commercial industry partners and DOD Transportation Officers. DOD Shipping Container Management instructs attendees on how to successfully manage and inspect DOD-owned, leased, or controlled ISO containers.
