Introducing Travel Academy

GovTravels is pleased to host the newly branded Travel Academy, a series of interactive, one-hour educational breakout sessions that will allow attendees to explore a variety of topics in greater depth. The sessions will take place on the afternoons of February 25 and 26, and are divided into the following topic tracks:

Care of Travelers – The topic continues to gain importance to Government and Industry to care for those traveling on behalf of their organizations.  Sessions will include how do organizations in different travel modes deal with disruptors in their industry? What must be considered under Duty of Care?  An overview of military leisure services will also be given.

Contracting – Speakers will provide updates related to managing the tools and processes in contracting travel services such as Category Management and the US Air Force Permanent Change of Station program. A session will also be provided on Ethics Training for Industry and Government, and Bus Industry Safety, Security, and Emergencies Preparedness.

Technology – Explore Big 5 Trends: Travel Trends Driving the Paradigm Shift of Government Travel.  A panel will review technology trends to make the traveler’s journey easier. What will be the impact of global distribution systems on the travel industry.

Travel Measurements – Big data and the science of data will be explored in sessions such as a Global Forecast of Travel Prices. A panel will look at measuring the quality of the traveler experiences and travel program management.  Another panel will consider Travel Data and Performance Metrics.

Travel Security – Catch TSA’s Update on Security: Navigating the Airport Checkpoint. What is the latest on cyber threats to travelers? Changes in cyber security are also putting more responsibility on contractors to safeguard systems and information, which will be the focus of a session on Cyber Security Threats and Contractor Obligations. The US Transportation Command will offer a session demonstrating the GOPAX #9 Redesigned System.
