JAX Chapter Sponsors TALON Networking Dinner

The NDTA Jacksonville (JAX) Chapter supported the Transportation and Logistics Organization Network (TALON) Networking Dinner held during the International Propeller Club’s Southeast Region Annual Conference on April 24, 2025. The dinner focused on Technology, Resiliency & Trade: Trends Shaping our Region’s Economy.
TALON is a collaborative effort between nine industry-related organizations that focus on information sharing, workforce development, and business and economic opportunities for the Northeast Florida region.
The JAX Chapter sponsored two speakers for the event:
Andrew Lockwood, VP, Solutions Engineering & Client Development at NXTPoint Logistics, the Supply Chain Management division of The Suddath Companies
Michael Baudendistel, CFA, Head of Intermodal Services at FreightWaves SONAR.
Both Lockwood and Baudendistel discussed the ability to manage trade fluctuations through data and leveraging an established network. Baudendistel emphasized the importance of understanding fluctuations in trade through historic and predictive analyses, and reviewed the trends the SONAR platform is capturing today. SONAR captures daily updates on transportation specific to truckload, LTL, rail intermodal, ocean and airfreight industries. SONAR subscribers gain access to commentary and insights from analysts and market experts for improved operational and capacity planning.
Lockwood highlighted the vital importance of maintaining a strong network of logistics solutions to allow for resilience in warehouse inventory management and optimization in distribution during trade volatility.
