The Department of Defense (DoD) is dependent upon the USTRANSCOM mobility enterprise, comprised of three component commands, one subordinate command, and a joint reserve unit to project and sustain the joint force. It is important for joint professionals to have an increased understanding of this vital mission.

Component Commands:

  • Air Mobility Command (AMC)
  • Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)
  • Military Sealift Command (MSC) Subordinate Command
  • Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) Reserve Unit:
  • Joint Transportation Reserve Unit (JTRU)
