NDTA Puget Sound Chapter Second Annual Summer Leadership Academy Thursday, August 22
REGISTER NOW! The NDTA Puget Sound Chapter will hold its second annual Summer Leadership Academy at the Tacoma Yacht Club in the Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, WA, on August 22.
The event will feature two recognized keynote speakers plus a series of concurrent sessions on topics linked to the overarching theme “Transportation Projects Power.” Last year’s event drew attendees from five states and DC.

Keynote Speakers
COL Craig Hymes, US Army (Ret) completed 28 years of distinguished service in 2009, and went on to a series of senior positions, including his current posts as the Senior Vice President of Operations for NDTA and Executive Vice President of the NDTA Board.
Following graduation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, his active service included numerous command and key positions with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, NC, the 27th Transportation Battalion in Germany, the Southern European Task Force in Italy, and the 10th Transportation Battalion at Fort Eustis, VA, culminating in a final assignment as Commander of the 597th Transportation Group, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.
COL Hymes will speak on The Relevance of NDTA, Past, Present, and Future.
Dr. Richard Strand is currently serving as the Principal and Owner of Richard & Associates, working primarily to develop the leadership talent and educational programs connected to aerospace, advanced manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and higher education.
During his 30 years of active service in the US Army, he commanded organizations from Company through Brigade-level, in addition to being assigned to prominent staff positions in the Director of Logistics office, the Joint Staff, Pentagon; the Director of Logistics office, HQS US Army Europe; and as Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He has also had a long and distinguished academic career as a professor at the National Defense University, Washington, DC, and as a college administrator and executive.
Dr. Strand will address two topics during the Academy, including a keynote presentation on US National Security Strategy—Issues and Interests.
