NDTA-USTRANSCOM Fall Meeting – Highlights of the 2021 Transportation Academy Sessions
The 2021 NDTA-USTRANSCOM Fall Meeting will be held October 18 – 21 at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center, National Harbor, MD. The always popular Transportation Academy will conduct over 60 interactive seminars/classes covering a variety of interest areas, including seminars taught by USTRANSCOM and Component Command senior leaders. See a few highlights for this year’s Transportation Academy below:
Logistics Technology and Innovation class: “Practical Applications for AI/ML Technology in Logistics”
Want to learn when and where technology makes a difference in building and maintaining resilient and adaptable logistics networks going forward? Want to learn more about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)? Sit in on the Logistics Technology and Innovation class “Practical Applications for AI/ML Technology in Logistics” presented by Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI) representatives, Mark Johnson, Probodh Chiplunkar, and Shashi Jina. The class will focus on the knowledge accumulated by the CNI Supply Chain Management (SCM) experts combining their observations with industry insights. With lessons learned from the pandemic, organizations are shifting their strategies to accommodate the increasing demand for responsive and resilient SCM networks. This requires reconfiguring the SCM network and leveraging technology to drive improvement in the overall customer experience. Gain valuable insights and thoughts on emerging AI/ML-based analytics. This class will explore many pain points and bottlenecks organizations experience in their logistics and inventory management function. You will take away a better understanding of the role AI/ML can play in alleviating challenges in SCM and discover how organizations are evaluating and leveraging existing and emerging software and hardware in this space.
Intelligence & Analytics class: “The Future of Data Sharing – Leveraging Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence to Enable Multi-party Data Sharing.”
CGI Federal will present on “The Future of Data Sharing – Leveraging Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence to Enable Multi-party Data Sharing.” The country and world are moving from an ownership economy to a sharing economy. We are willing to share our homes, but not our data. Data sharing challenges remain but can be overcome with forward-thinking and an understanding of recent technological advancements. This session will focus on how to leverage emerging technologies, including Blockchain and AI, to build a platform that enables efficient data sharing and discovery across and between agencies, networks, and systems. We can achieve robust traceability, auditability, and discovery with validation access without a centralized single party-controlled data repository (integrated data repository or data lake) nor the need for data transfer, without sacrificing data integrity, authority, and non-repudiation.
We look forward to seeing you this October at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Please know that NDTA and USTRANSCOM are regularly monitoring COVID guidelines issued by Prince George’s County in Maryland and that the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center has an outstanding commitment to safety and health.
