Out and About with the North Florida-Jacksonville Chapter

Jan 4, 2022 | Chapter Spotlight

For our most recent in-person engagement, the NDTA North-Florida-Jacksonville Chapter teamed up with other non-profit organizations that support veterans and veteran activities. We hosted a social event at Veteran’s United Brewery, where we invited K9 For Warriors and Heartillery Group. We held a 50/50 raffle where the proceeds were shared amongst the two organizations.

On behalf of our Chapter, Angie Reno, VP Industry Affairs, and I sponsored and participated in the 11th Annual Children’s Safe Passage Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored by AGX Freight. All proceeds were allocated to the Somer Sunshine Scholarship at the Monique Burr Foundation for Children. This was an incredible opportunity for Angie and me to not only support a great cause but to network with various logistics organizations in the Jacksonville area. And not to brag or anything, we came in third place at 14 under with a 58…

Supporting another veteran cause, Angie and Chapter Treasurer and Secretary Lynn Talmedge participated in the Travis Manion Go Ruck Event. The Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) “empowers veterans and families of the fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.”

A few weeks ago, I participated in a fundraising golf tournament for the Cecil Field POW/MIA Memorial. I had the opportunity to meet several veterans, business representatives, and other individuals that support veteran causes. I was able to talk about our Chapter’s mission and goals, to provide academic scholarship opportunities as well as support for veterans and veteran organizations. Again, an incredible opportunity to network with industry and individuals, and discuss the benefits of NDTA membership.
