The Surface Force Projection Conference (SFPC) took place May 18-20, 2021. The meeting was co-hosted by NDTA and Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies (CNU CAS) and held in cooperation with the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), the Maritime Administration (MARAD), and the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC).
The conference brought together US government and industry subject matter experts in logistics and transportation to examine the challenges associated with deployment and employment of forces and equipment in support of US national security objectives.
One such session was Preparing for a Successful Unit Deployment – Lessons Learned from a Commercial Carrier Perspective, which discussed using lessons learned from numerous large-scale global military unit deployments to help prepare deploying units and military/commercial enablers for future success. The session was presented by Ms. Sandy Santianna, Vice President, Customer Service, Pricing & Contracts, and Mr. Ameed Micko, Vice President DOD Sales, both of American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier.
