Telesto Group Partners to Provide Disaster Assistance COVID-19 Support
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced that more than 132 million food boxes have been distributed in support of Americans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through the Farmers to Families Food Box Program. The Food Box program connects farmers who do not have a market for their agricultural products with families who need access to nutritious meals. In addition to the initial $3 billion in program funding, a fifth-round continuation has been announced to purchase an additional $1.5 billion worth of food for nationwide distribution.
Since early 2016, Telesto Group has provided SAP technology services to the USDA Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) system through our ongoing partnership with CACI. Telesto Group provides release management and testing governance expertise to ensure the successful deployment of production WBSCM system and BI HANA reporting enhancements. These mission critical system updates directly support the USDA Farmers to Family Food Box program.
Joshua Powell, Telesto WBSCM Release Manager, led the transition to agile (Agile for Operations with SAP Activate) and continues to ensure monthly releases are successfully deployed on schedule while facilitating the off-cycle deployment of emergency tickets in direct support of the Famers to Food Box disaster assistance program.
Joshua is excited to be a part of the team. “We have many success stories since beginning the WBSCM project, consistently exceeding USDA’s expectations in supporting their mission,” said Powell. “Our involvement with the Food Box program is especially meaningful because it touches the lives of Americans in need.”
