President, Washington, D.C. Chapter
Each year, NDTA’s Washington, D.C. chapter awards thousands of dollars to currently enrolled college students pursuing degrees in the logistics or transportation fields. We believe strongly in educating future entrepreneurs and leaders in these fields, which are so important to our economy and national security.
I encourage you to join us at our annual charity auction on February 27, 2016 to raise money for 2016 scholarship donations and other educational programs our chapter provides.
This auction is traditionally one of our most successful events for funding our scholarships and educational programs. I consistently hear from attendees that the auction is their favorite fundraising event of the year. In many cases, the auction can cover more than half the funds we dedicate to students in the transportation and logistics industries. In 2015, for instance, the chapter donated $15,000 to local students after a competitive selection process.
The auction will take place from 6PM – 8:30PM at the Oakwood Falls Church Corporate Apartments in Falls Church, VA. A $20 registration fee covers admission, food and beverages, and of course the chance to bid on some really terrific items. We typically have a range of goods and services including airline tickets, entertainment packages, gift certificates and sports memorabilia.
Interested in donating an auction item? We ask that all donations be sent by February 19th. Please e-mail Kevin Ashley at the address below for more details.
If you want to register or see more information about the auction, check out our chapter website. We also welcome sponsorships – interested companies and organizations can sign up online or contact kevindashley1@gmail.com.
Thanks so much for your generosity, and don’t miss out on a terrific evening on February 27th!
