SFPC: Meet MG Heidi J. Hoyle: Global Force Protection: Ports & Surface Deployment of Forces

The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) and Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies (CAS) welcomes Major General Heidi J. Hoyle, USA as a keynote speaker at the 2022 NDTA-CAS Surface Force Projection Conference (SFPC) to be held May 17-19, 2022, at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.

MG Hoyle is the Commanding General of the Military Surface Deployment & Distribution Command (SDDC) and will be discussing Global Force Projection: Ports and Surface Deployment of Forces. She will share her insights, concerns, and observations as the USTRANSCOM Component Commander responsible for the surface deployment and distribution of forces through the CONUS strategic seaports and on to destination. Your attendance is a unique opportunity to participate in the conversation, understand the challenges, and help us identify improvements.

MG Hoyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management and two Master of Science degrees in Systems Engineering and National Security and Resource Strategy. Upon graduation from the University of Virginia, she was assigned as an Instructor and then Associate Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. MG Hoyle’s career as a decorated Military Officer includes serving as the 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD) Executive Officer with deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Aide-de-Camp to the Director of the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, and command of the Special Troops Battalion of the 3rd Sustainment Brigade, Fort Stewart, Georgia with deployment to Iraq in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn.
